Internal Friction in Fe-Co-Ni-Ti Shape Memory Alloys
The anomalies of the temperature dependences of the logarithmic decrement and eigen frequency of the free damped vibrations for Fe-Co-Ni-Ti shape memory alloys were first found in the vicinity of the reverse ay martensitic transformation. It was shown the damping capacity in the alloys investigated is comparable with that for TiNi based alloys.
متن کاملDesign and development of novel antibacterial Ti-Ni-Cu shape memory alloys for biomedical application
In the case of medical implants, foreign materials are preferential sites for bacterial adhesion and microbial contamination, which can lead to the development of prosthetic infections. Commercially biomedical TiNi shape memory alloys are the most commonly used materials for permanent implants in contact with bone and dental, and the prevention of infections of TiNi biomedical shape memory allo...
متن کاملUse of Ni - Ti shape memory alloys for thermal sensor - actuators Dieter
Ni-Ti shape memory actuators respond to temperature changes with a shape change. Therefore, they are sensors and actuators. They combine large motion, rather high forces and small size, thus providing high work output. They usually consist of only a single piece of metal, e.g. a helical spring, and do not require sophisticated mechanical systems. They of len fit into tight spaces in given desig...
متن کاملStudy of Dislocations Generated by Thermal Cycling in Ni-Ti-Co Shape Memory Alloys
In the present work we report some results concerning the evolutions of transformation temperatures and microstructure during thermal cycling in Ti47%Ni 3% Co (atomic percent). In the case of hulk material (obtained by a conventional solidification method) high amounts of dislocations l'onn during cycling, which produce a considerable evolution of the transformation temperatures (up LO -40K). w...
